In 1961, Jim Henson - creator of the Muppets, created this short film visualizing a drum solo from Chico Hamilton. This music piece "Drums West" was recorded in 1954 and was released on the album Chico Hamilton Quintet in Hi-Fi in 1956.

Henson used cut paper and stop motion photography to articulate his visualization, referencing every tiny subdivision and texture through shape, size, and color. At the end of the video, we get a glimpse of Henson's working method in his home studio.
