"One of the biggest aspects of my work, especially in my videography, is to not just to tell the unique, personal stories of each summer - but to highlight the larger, constantly evolving narrative that drum corps are historic, almost cinematic features of the music industry with an immensely positive impact on so many lives. I often worry I'm over-romanticizing the stories we tell but I find a lot of enjoyment in capturing feelings, where I focus less on traditional action shots (which are so important!) and more on the mood and atmosphere that my media creates. Drum corps and the marching arts can often feel like a whole other world and I enjoy highlighting that, especially because there’s so much incredible content being put out detailing the day-to-day experience. There’s room for my work to be a little more dark and a little more dramatic, leaving room for the imagination."
